About

Free To Be Family focuses on embodying wisdom, truth, and purpose as we nurture the future generation.

I’m Vicky, author of the Free To Be Family blog, a 30-something mother, homemaker, and social sciences undergraduate living on the beautiful south-west coast of England with my 4 children. A typical Geminian (interested in everything and expert in nothing), I have, however, always considered myself to be a writer, humanitarian, and spiritual aspirant.

The most important work of my life so far has been raising my children. It may be a cliché, but they are indeed my greatest teachers, not least in the skill of finding peace amongst the chaos in a way no amount of sitting meditation could show me.

Free To Be Family is here to inspire you and your family to pursue authentic joy as you explore your purpose in the world. Taking an holistic approach, our physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being entwines to allow us to reach our greatest potential as members of the human family.

Blending philosophical reflections and social theory with practical calls to action, Free To Be Family explores the full spectrum of life to inform, inspire, affirm, and empower. From the mundanity of keeping a tidy home to the ‘hard problem of consciousness’, let us teach our children the powers of critical thinking and philanthropy, and let them teach us the joys of presence and simple pleasures.
